Mexico Corporate Travel Conference to Draw More than 200 Attendees

NBTA Mexico to Host 2nd Annual Conference

NBTA Mexico -- the only Mexican organization dedicated to providing education and professional resources for corporate travel professionals, and a regional affiliate of the National Business Travel Association (NBTA), a global organization -- today gave reporters a preview of the 2nd Annual NBTA Mexico Corporate Travel Conference, to be held January 21-23, 2008 at the Hotel Nikko, Mexico City.

The event provides unique professional development opportunities for corporate travel managers and buyers, as well as suppliers of corporate travel services. More than 200 attendees are expected to take advantage of the education sessions and networking opportunities offered at the NBTA Mexico Corporate Travel Conference. Participants will finish the event better prepared to drive value for their companies. Travel buyers will gain better understanding of how effective corporate travel management improves the bottom line, minimizes risk, and maximizes the value of every travel dollar spent. They will improve relationships with current vendors and establish new supplier contacts. Travel suppliers will gain better understanding of their corporate clients, enhance relationships with existing customers, and meet potential new clients.

Veronica Crespo, a member of the NBTA Mexico Board and North America Travel Agency/Technology Manager, Hewlett-Packard Company, said, “I look forward to the NBTA Mexico Corporate Travel Conference next week, because I know it will be the most important business travel industry event of the year in Mexico. The event was a tremendous success last year, and we will build on that success.”

Speakers at the NBTA Mexico Corporate Travel Conference will include the following:

Germán Dehesa, well-known Mexican actor and writer. Dehesa has had a prolific career as a comedian in film, TV and radio and has written more than 50 theatrical productions. For his role in the 1995 film "Cilantro y perejil," Dehesa was nominated for a Silver Ariel Award, the national film award in Mexico. Having also served as editorialist for several Mexican newspapers, Dehesa was awarded the Parliamentary Journalism Award in 1998.

Tom DePasquale, Executive Vice President of Technology at Concur. DePasquale was the founder, president and CEO of Outtask, Inc., which was acquired by Concur. DePasquale has more than 25 years of experience applying technology solutions to address global business and industry challenges. As the architect of the Cliqbook corporate travel management application, which currently supports over 2,000 corporations word wide, DePasquale has led the industry to deliver on the promise of end-to-end paperless and keyless expense management.

Dr. Lorenzo Meyer, distinguished professor and researcher in social sciences. As an analyst of the Mexican political system, particularly the transition from authoritarian to a democratic regime, Dr. Lorenzo has had more than 120 chapters and articles published in academic publications. He has authored several books on international relations of Mexico with the United States, England and Spain, as well as the political and social history of Mexico during the 20th Century. The first NBTA Mexico Corporate Travel Conference was hosted by NBTA in January 2007, before the formation of NBTA Mexico. The great success of that event led to the formation of NBTA Mexico later in the year. Attendees of the conference were so enthusiastic about the event and so eager for more such opportunities, that NBTA worked with volunteers in Mexico to form a regional affiliate to serve the market. NBTA Mexico was launched in July 2007 and now acts as organizer for the NBTA Mexico Corporate Travel Conference as well as other events to serve the Mexican corporate travel management community.
