August 29, 2008 (Mexico City) - NBTA Mexico, the leading organization for corporate travel professionals in Mexico, last week held an Educational Day at the Four Seasons Hotel in Mexico City. Dozens of participants took part in three educational sessions:

New Trends in the Hotel Industry -- The session explored the latest hotel services to meet the needs of business travelers, including hotel company support systems designed to serve customers even if they are thousands of miles away.

The "Zero" VAT -- SECTUR (Secretaría de Turismo de México) presented this session on incentivizing foreign and multinational companies to conduct their international events in Mexico with the "zero rate" of Value Added Tax.

Corporate Travel Security/Risk Management – Attendees learned the importance of including risk management within a company’s travel policy and tips on how to accomplish that goal.

NBTA Mexico’s educational seminars and conferences are part of NBTA’s commitment to advancing the corporate travel management profession globally. This most recent NBTA Mexico Educational Day provided an ideal opportunity for companies based in Mexico or with major presence in the country to learn more about how a managed corporate travel program can improve operations in business, help control costs and help ensure the safety of their traveling employees.

NBTA Mexico, the leading organization for corporate travel professionals in Mexico, is part of the National Business Travel Association (NBTA), the world’s premier business travel and corporate meetings organization. NBTA and its regional affiliates – NBTA Asia Pacific, NBTA Canada, NBTA Mexico and NBTA USA – serve a network of more than 15,000 business travel professionals around the globe with industry-leading events, networking, education & professional development, research, news & information, and advocacy. NBTA members, numbering more than 4,000 in 30 nations, are corporate and government travel and meetings managers, as well as travel service providers. They collectively manage and direct more than US$200 billion of global business travel and meetings expenditures annually on behalf of more than 10 million business travelers within their organizations.
